Francis Ogolla's Wife, Daughter Break Down As CDF's Body Is Lowered Into Grave

• Francis Ogolla was laid to rest in Ng'iya in a military ceremony attended by President William Ruto, his DP Rigathi Gachagua, among other dignitaries
• Joel Rabuku, alongside military officials, descended into the grave to receive the body of his father
• Ogolla's widow, Aileen and their daughter, Lorna Omondi, broke down as the body of the Chief of Defence Forces was being lowered to the ground
• Family members had to step in to comfort the heartbroken mother and daughter, who sobbed uncontrollably

Francis Ogolla has been laid to rest in an emotional ceremony conducted by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF). Ogolla is survived by a widow, two children and a grandchild.

General Ogolla died on Thursday, April 18, in a chopper crash alongside nine others and was buried within 72 hours as per his will.

Ogolla's wife, Aileen, broke down as her husband's body was lowered to the ground. Her daughter, Lorna Omondi, also broke down.

Francis Ogolla's son enters dad's grave

Joel Rabuku, alongside military officials, descended into the grave to receive the body of his father.

It was a sad moment, demonstrating the respect and honour accorded to a man who distinguishedly served his country.

Joel, at some point, removed his glasses and wiped tears while inside the grave.

The gravity of the moment was not lost on the mourners, who observed in silent reverence as Ogolla's body was lowered to his last resting place.

Religious leaders led by Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya Jackson Nasoore Ole Sapit surrounded the grave for the final service before burying him.
