Trans Nzoia - Governor George Natembeya has revealed his disappointments after being denied an invitation to Madaraka Day celebrations.

The outspoken former Rift Valley regional commissioner said he suspects that the move was after he publicly advocated for change in regional leadership.

While speaking in Vihiga county during the launch of the Tawe Movement Vihiga Women's League, Natembeya said that other governors within the region have been involved in planning Madaraka Day celebrations while he has been kept in the dark.

"Some people don't want to see me because I am telling the truth, I I haven't said the truth. Let them come, and tell you that I am lying. It is for this reason that they have denied me an invitation to Madaraka Day, and I have not been allowed close to them," he said.

Natembeya stated that he is not working under anyone and, therefore, not anyone's project.

"I have heard some people say that I am someone's project, let me tell you, I am not anyone's project even some you mention here I don't have thier contacts," he stated.

The county chief has been battling Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula and Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi for what he calls a lack of productive leadership.

How did Wetang'ula respond to Natembeya

While speaking at a function in Cherang'anyi Constituency, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula told off Natembeya for his remarks in various meetings about leadership in the region.

"Some people entered politics recently. They now think they know it all, tell them that we have been here, we have seen people fall for rushing like them." said Wetang'ula

Natembeya's Tawe movement received a major boost when over a hundred members of the county assembly drawn from Kakamega, Trans Nzoia, Busia, Vihiga, and Nairobi counties pledged to support him.

Natembeya, Moses Wetangula fight

The rift between Wetang'ula and Natembeya took a major turn after their collision at a funeral in Goseta, Bidii ward in Trans Nzoia weeks ago.

The governor, in a series of his rallies, had rubbished the speaker as the leader of the region, yet the region lagged in development, with a huge section of people suffering in poverty.

Natembeya said he respected Wetang'ula and Prime Cabinet Musalia Mudavadi but could not support their unity course.
