Master Denzel Omondi Odiwuor, a young boy who recently made a remarkable recovery after a mouth cancer diagnosis, has sadly died after complaining of a severe stomachache.

Denzel was diagnosed with mouth cancer

In August 2023, Denzel suffered a severe toothache, and its removal led to excruciating pain and severe swelling. A diagnosis later revealed that he had an aggressive mouth cancer.

The rapidly progressing mouth cancer, which threatened his eating and had also blocked his airwaves, had left him with just days to live. The family acted fast to get him treatment.

After TUKO.co.ke ran a story about him, well-wishers came forward, and he was helped at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. He was operated on and made a remarkable recovery.

Denzel complains of tummy pain

Fast forward to May 2024, his uncle John Owino reached out to TUKO.co.ke saying that the boy had died.

"He cried of severe pain in his tummy and when he was rushed to the doctor, we were told that the disease had affected his intestines, so he succumbed to it," said Owino.

The late Denzel came from a humble background. His parents and uncle are all jobless, and treating the disease has drained them of their finances.

"We are calling on well-wishers to help us bury the boy. We do not have money to pay mortuary fees, buy the coffin or even feed the mourners," he said.

Boy's body recovered 4km away

Another story revealed that over 30 people were still missing following the nasty Mai Mahiu flooding disaster that claimed over 60 lives and displaced many people.

The body of a three-year-old boy was recovered a fortnight later, about 40 kilometres from the flooding scene.

Floodwaters swept through four localities in Mai Mahiu on April 29, during the heavy torrential rains that hit the country then.
