According to a report done by Nation, the teacher was killed in the Komenya Sublocation after leaving St. Bakhita Girls' Secondary School, where he taught mathematics and chemistry.

The police report said the teacher left the school minutes before 7pm. On his way home, he met two of his colleagues, and since he had a motorbike, he decided to drop them off at their homes first.

Upon dropping his colleagues off, he visited his friend, where he stayed until 8:30pm before deciding to head home.

It was while riding back home from his friend's place that he met the assailants.

People nearby reported that they had some commotion before they saw the teacher staggering back to his friend's house with a spear lodged behind his head.

What efforts were made to save the man?

The teacher was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors tried to stabilise him to no avail. The hospital referred him to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital, where they couldn't help him too.

The teacher was then referred to Jaramogi Oginga Hospital in Kisumu, where he was declared dead upon arrival. His body was then transferred back to Homabay Teaching and Referral Hospital, awaiting postmortem.

Body of female teacher found behind her house

Earlier, on January 23, a teacher from Obwolo Secondary School in Kisumu was allegedly attacked and killed by her husband at her Oboch pub in Nyakach sub-county.

Confirming the incident, North Nyakach division assistant county commissioner Darwin Orina said the police had commenced an investigation.

Orina stated that the suspect, the lady's husband, was also in custody, adding that the law would not be lenient to anybody involved in the heinous act.
