The late Kikuyu singer John DeMathew's second widow, Caroline Waithera, has opened up about being cut off after she started her YouTube channel.

Caroline DeMathew exposes late singer's family

The social media influencer claimed that for two years after DeMathew's death, she used to get an equal share of royalties as the first wife, but things changed when she opted to start content creation.

While narrating her story on her channel, Caroline admitted that her efforts to get to court failed as the late singer did not leave any will or written document behind.

"John trusted people so much, even the car he died in was not in his name. He trusted people so much and it is that trust that finishes people because it is the same thing that made me go to court. After two years, everything was flowing, and we were getting our shares as required," she said.

Why Demathew's second wife went to court

Caroline admitted that when they cut her off, she asked questions and was told her channel was taking viewership away from the late singer's platform.

"I was told I am finishing the content, that what I have started to do will make mzee's channel to be obsolete. I was like, his was for music, mine was for anything. Three months they did not give me my share that they were initially giving me," she added.

However, her efforts to get one of DeMathew's friends to intervene were futile as he told her the same thing she had been told, forcing her to go to court.

"In court, I did not have evidence of so many things," she added.
