Nairobi - Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja has called out Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for trying to intimidate him.

During a meeting on Wednesday, May 29, with Nairobi United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party delegates, Sakaja stated he would not be cowed.

The county boss stated that nobody could claim to have handed him the governor's seat apart from Nairobi residents and God.

Sakaja stated that it was ironic for the DP to lament about being undermined by a section of leaders, yet he had been doing the same for the last two years.

He ridiculed the DP's claims that he had disappeared from the limelight to pray in the forest for facing little criticism.

"I've been through a lot, so no one will start intimidating me today. I am not easy to intimidate. In fact, it's impossible; this life is in God's hands alone. We are in our positions because of God and the people. No one can claim they gave me the position of Governor of Nairobi. It's the 5 million citizens who chose me to be governor.
Don't try and intimidate us. We are unbwogable. You can't bully people; you've bullied people for two years, and the moment you're mentioned for a week, you start crying and even retreat to the forest or wherever," he said.

Sakaja stated that most people had dismissed him because of his demeanour and had resorted to making him their punching bag.

What is Sakaja's advice to Gachagua

He urged the second in command to exercise restraint and show leaders under him respect or respect the voters who elected them.

"Let me tell you, if you want respect, then respect other leaders. If you don't respect them, then at least respect the people who put them there." Sakaja concluded.

The governor further claimed that his opponent for the position of UDA Nairobi branch chairman, Embakasi North MP James Gakuya, was not his competitor.

Sakaja claimed Gakuya was only a project by 'some people' who wanted him in that position.

Battle between Oscar Sudi and Gachagua

Earlier, Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi lashed out at Gachagua over claims that he was being undermined.

Speaking in Ainabkoi Constituency on Sunday, May 26, Sudi castigated the deputy president, arguing that every leader has a right to travel across the country beyond their constituencies to support their party leaders.

Sudi called on Gachagua to respect other leaders, noting that every leader in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance contributed to Ruto's victory.
