A Kenyan woman has sparked debate on X after a suitor slid into her DM demanding that she must submit to him.

Do men like women who submit?

Lilac Mwesh shared screenshots of the DM exchange with the man, who outright sought to exert control over her.

In one of the messages, the man wrote:

"According to me, you are supposed to be lesser-brained to the extent I can control you.”

Concerned about the text, Mwesh sought answers about what men want in relationships.

"What do men really want? I have nothing to say, honestly. This is from my DM. I am open to your views, pals," Mwesh captioned the screenshots.

According to social media users, the man's message was a red flag reeking of his insecurity and narcissistic behaviour.

Should women submit to men?

The reactions share similar sentiments opined by Yvonne Kontoz in January 2024, who advised women against submitting to men who do not provide.

In a Facebook post, Kontoz said the demand for wives to submit should be contingent upon husbands meeting their financial obligations.

Kontoz explained that women who are the sole breadwinners of their families will naturally not be obedient to their husbands.
