Kenyan Man Heartbroken As Gov't To Demolish House Dad Built: "Tulianza Na Ya Mabati"

A young man has taken to TikTok to painfully share how the government is set to demolish their family house, which their dad built from scratch.

Rolex6_noty woken up at 2am

In a TikTok video, @rolex6_Noty shared that the call about the house came at 2am, and he learnt that the house was going to be demolished.

The young man bitterly protested that the government had allegedly not given them a solution to their impending homelessness.

"I could hear the pain in my dad's voice; he has really invested in this house. We started with a mabati house and lived there until he finished building the permanent house. I have grown in this home but as of May 21, this house will be past tense," said the musician.

"Government, even if you have a greater goal, have a solution for the people.My dad will have to go live in the village. Iam not just talking about my dad but other families as well. Personally, there is nothing I can do about it; that is where you know there is mwanainchi and mwenye inchi," he added.

Fury as gov't demolishes houses

In another story, residents of Mukuru kwa Rueben lost their property on Friday, May 3 as their houses were demolished.

The residents decried that the government did not issue them with a vacation notice telling them to move from riverbanks.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki issued a statement on Thursday, May 2, ordering people living close to water bodies to evacuate within 24 hours.
