A man identified as Marto Muriithi is shocked he didn't get any reward after returning KSh 100,000 a Member of Parliament allegedly sent to his phone by mistake.

Muriithi doesn't get reward

In a Facebook post, Muriithi shared that he contacted the bank to request the sender's contact information once the money landed in his phone.

"They assured me they would get back to shortly. I eventually obtained the sender's number, resolved the issue, and reversed the full amount," said Muriithi on Facebook.

"Now someone just sent me KSh 10,000 with a text saying, chairman, please use this for fuel. By the way, the said MP did not give me anything. Let me open up; I sent the money to some light-skin girl he directed," he added.

When TUKO.co.ke reached out asking why the man chose to return the man instead of spending it, he said:

"I am a clean soul, have an image to keep, and I believe karma can deal with you."

Kenyans react to Muriithi's complaint:

Stanley Muriuki:

"But you weren't returning it to get anything."

Ciku Mwangi:

"But if you could have kept the money for yourself ungetumia 2m na hungejua ulitumia aje."

Justo GK Ole:

"Are you sure you aren't being braked out of the momentum you're on."

Kimani John Mukuurah:

"Chairman M-Pesa haikua na kakitu before KSh 100,000 iingie.

Wanjiru Jey:

"Mimi mtu akinitumia wrong number I deduct my "tea" and reverse the rest...do good walk your way for who ."

Kipchumba Laudy:

"Aki ya Mungu, mimi pekee yangu ndio mtu mbaya ."

Kate Githumbi:

"Yani Mungu analeta baraka then unarudishia; you and the girl mwenye alirudisha millions mnataka mtupwe huko. Si wanijaribu walai."

Kitengela hustler with Fuliza returns KSh 81k

In another story, a man identified as Peter Amboko was lucky as he got back KSh 84, 000, which he had sent Julius Ledama erroneously.

The latter didn't think twice about returning the money despite having a Fuliza loan of KSh 5,500 and being a struggling student at the UoN.

Despite his honesty, he claims that Amboko did not call to say thank you or reward him in any way.
