How did hawker open shop?

In a series of photos via Instagram, Winny explained that she at times went without making a sale despite being situated along the busy Aga Khan Walk.

She soon expanded and acquired a tiny shop away from the hustles and bustle of Nairobi streets. However, when she outgrew her slightly larger second shop, Covid-19 hit.

The pandemic was a godsend as it was at this time that she took a leap of faith and merged three nearby shops at the lucrative Hakati business centre near Afya centre.

Soon, business was booming, and she went all out, merging 10 other shops.

"My first shop was so tiny, but I didn't give up. It didn't even have ventilation. My second shop was bigger than the first one.
Then during Covid, I decided to combine three shops in the same building because now the stock was abundant, and the space was small. Then I decided to go all out. I combined 10 shops, and let me tell you guys, God has been faithful," said Winny.

Reacting to the video, netizens said her story was a proud moment for any hawker as a testament to one's hard work, dedication and growth.

Atieno Odongo:

"As your clients, we're proud of your business journey and growth but I'm mostly happy about your kindness. Lord! You're so kind. Thank you, and congratulations."

Odhys Komo:

"Congratulations, keep winning, and the sky is never the limit."

Dee Kareithi:

"So inspiring. May you keep expanding."

Precious:

"You have a good heart...you know how to take care of both your clients and employees. I found you online one time when I was looking for shoes, and since then, I am glued. God continue blessing the work of your hands."

Margaret Ciku:

"Night made!! May God continue to enlarge your territories..."

Auma Vesh:

"I can attest to it. Congratulations, Winnie."

Marisburg:

"Absolutely incredible and inspiring. Keep soaring, dear!"
