Kenyans Astonished As Bride Price For Kikuyu Bride Costing Millions Emerges: "Heri Nikae Single"

The bride price of a young woman on the threshold of marriage has lit up the internet, with many people sharing their opinions about it.

Man expected to pay over KSh 4.7 million

The list, which was shared on Facebook by Ngarari Julius, was reportedly for a lady identified as Wanjiku. It was signed by someone who identified himself as Muriuki Kiarie.

The list included 150 goats at a cost of KSh 1.5 million, 40 cows at KSh 2.5 million, and 20 crates of beer at KSh 100,000.

There was also Mukwa at KSh 400,000, Athuri (men) at KSh 20,000, Kabuti ya mzee at KSh 10,000, and a water tank at KSh 100,000. There were also 20 bags of 90kg rice and 20 chunks of bananas.

When people said the money was too much, some women thought that it was worth it.

Woman stops KSh 840k price payment

In another story, a woman named Jessica Rosinah sparked debate online after sharing details about her marriage.

In a TikTok video, she revealed that her husband didn't pay the KSh 840k dowry (bride price) her family requested.

Instead, they decided to get married at the Home Affairs office and invest the money in property.
