Kericho - A woman from Sigowet-Soin Constituency is currently recovering from injuries inflicted by her husband, who severed her ears, alleging disobedience.

The sub-county police commander, Peter Nthiga, confirmed the incident, which occurred on Wednesday, May 8, causing shockwaves through the community.

Why were the Kericho woman's ears severed?

According to police reports, the man accused his wife of failing to follow his instructions, although specific details regarding their discussion and the circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear.

Nthiga stated that law enforcement had initiated a manhunt for the husband, who fled the scene after the tragic event, as reported by TV47.

He also encouraged residents to seek peaceful ways to resolve their disputes instead of resorting to regrettable actions.

Nairobi woman splashes boiling oil on neighbour's face

In another incident, a woman was taken to custody for causing severe bodily harm to her neighbour's face for allegedly copying her hairstyle.

The victim returned to their residence in Dandora, Nairobi county, late in the night and when the suspect noticed a resemblance in their hairstyles, she quickly went to a nearby fish vendor, seized a spoon with boiling fish oil and splashed it on the victim.

The disagreement led to chaos, which later resulted in a physical confrontation that left the victim's teeth dislocated.

Upon hearing of the case, the suspect was released on KSh 20,000 cash bail or an alternative bond of KSh 50,000 in addition to settling the victim's hospital bill.
