A Kikuyu singer has delighted netizens after singing for his grandmother in a heartwarming video.

Which songs did Wanjine perform for his grandmother?

The video, posted on TikTok by @wanjinethewan, shows the singer beautifully performing for his grandmother who watches with admiration.

Wanjine titled the post:

“A day with shosh.”

With his guitar in hand, he performed two tender songs, each a tribute to his grandmother’s influence and importance in his life.

In the first song, he vowed never to dishonour her, affectionately calling her his “second god.”

The lyrics went:

"I will never call my grandma any name or disturb her; I call her the seer who saw me, my second god."

After finishing the first song, he inquired if his grandmother recognized the tune, to which she responded affirmatively and said it was a lovely song.

Wanjine then commenced the second song while his grandmother listened with evident pride and joy.

The lyrics reflected his deep affection.

Part of the song went:

"I look at the woman who gave birth to my dad, and I feel my heart loving her

Following the performance, they shared a light-hearted exchange, reminiscing about the times Wanjine would attentively listen to his grandmother’s tales.

Grandma steals show with Ohangla dance moves

Elsewhere, an elderly woman took over the bridal dance at a wedding by outshining every other attendee at the ceremony despite walking with the help of a walking stick.

The grandma busted moves to a blaring Ohangla song, putting the newlywed couple to shame as they watched in disbelief from a distance.

The video of the incident was shared on Facebook by comedian Mannerson Oduor Ochieng, who is popularly known as Akuku Danger.
