MP Wamboka Tells CS Linturi To Stop Dragging Ex-Wife Marianne Kaitany Into His Issues: "Achika"

Bumula MP Jack Wamboka blasted Agriculture Cabinet Mithika Linturi for constantly implicating Aldai MP Marianne Keitany in his issues.

Speaking during Linturi's impeachment trial, Wamboka said the defence submitted by the CS linked Kaitany to his troubles, which he said was unfair.

He told him to stop bringing up his private life to matters of national importance, anytime a serious issue arose.

"These are grievous matters of national importance to be reduced to love matters ukiachwa achika. It is indeed unfair to keep dragging Mariane into this matter. It should be unfair for your private life to come up anytime a serious concern arises," Wamboka said.

Why is Linturi facing impeachment?

Linturi is being hunted after allegations emerged that the Ministry of Agriculture supplied farmers with fake fertiliser under the government's fertiliser subsidy programme.

He further declared Kel Chemicals, a Thika-based company a crime scene to pave the way for investigations as he withdrew their operational license.

Wamboka asks Linturi to allow witnesses to come in

As the session proceeded, Wamboka who proposed the impeachment motion asked the CS to allow witnesses to come to prove his innocence.

Wamboka raised a concern over Linturi's worry about presenting witnesses, who were in eight including six farmers and two experts.

"If indeed the minister is innocent why is he worried about the witnesses? It is a matter of national interest. Kenyans want to know if you are innocent or if someone could be planning a witch hand against the CS, let us bring in the witnesses," Wamboka stated.

Meru leaders come in support of Linturi

Meru leaders have come out and pleaded with President William Ruto to save Linturi against impeachment.

The leaders said Linturi was among the best-performing ministers in the country. However, a survey done by TIFA ranked Mithika as the worst-performing CS.
