The Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Kennedy Ng'ondi, is under fire for alleged misconduct during an office celebration.

What did Ng'ondi do during the party?

During his birthday celebration with colleagues, Ng'ondi could be seen insisting that Fatuma Abdiwahid, a female Muslim Nominated MCA, shake his hands and hug him.

A video circulating online shows other male MCAs at the party also pressuring Fatuma to greet Ng'ondi.

She, visibly uncomfortable, covered her face as Ng'ondi persisted in forcing the hug, urging her to greet him for his birthday and take a photo.

"Today, you must greet me for my birthday. Greet me. Take a photo," he repeatedly instructed her amidst the commotion.

Kenyans react

Some Kenyans have condemned the act and are urging the investigation bodies to take action against Ng'ondi.

Prince Mohaa Yule Charmin observed:

"That is unethical and this guy should face the wrath. Directorate of Criminal Investigations - DCI needs to investigate this cultural trespass. This is completely unacceptable."

Abdalles Abdi said:

"The sister did all she could to resist shaking hands with him but the man forced her, this is violence and it should be dealt with."

Mohamed Daud said:

"This is a violation of the rights of a Muslim person. The speaker/MCA should be sued for this character. Freedom of religion is shrined in the constitution of Kenya."

Sanka Alhandro advised:

"Her husband should sue this man for sexual harassment and if she is a widow or divorcee I can sue this man. This is very bad. Kindly facilitate how we can reach that lady."

Man arrested for buying Muslim friend pork

In a separate story, a man was arrested for stalking a Muslim friend he reportedly fell in love with.

The man followed the lady and bought her different gifts including a plane ticket to China against the woman's wish.

He followed her everywhere including her classes at the university and at one point, he bought her a kilo of pork, which led to his arrest.
