Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, detective Jane Mugoh, who is following up on the case, painted the family's agony as they continue wallowing in the unknown.

"It is sad that the government promised there would be no kidnaps, but that is not the case on the ground," she lamented.

The case was reported at the Kabete DCI under OB number Muthangari 10/7/05/2024, but so far, leads have been scarce.

Family had to travel to Nairobi

Reuben's brother Nicholas Yegon told TUKO.co.ke that they have been languishing in untold anguish since their kin's disappearance.

"We had to travel from the village to Nairobi, hoping to find him, but we've not been successful. We are living every family’s worst nightmare because Reuben was a father, a husband, and a son,” he said.

Nicholas reiterated that they believe there are people out there who know what happened to the businessman, with suspicions rife that the perpetrators are his rivals.

With their efforts having failed, the family has offered a cash reward of KSh 500,000 to anyone who can help them locate the missing man.

The family hopes that the substantial reward will encourage anyone with information to come forward.

"Reuben was the breadwinner, so his disappearance has left his family in limbo," Mugoh added.

The DCI officer handling the case told TUKO.co.ke that he would give a comment in a physical meeting.

Reuben's business partner also abducted

Detective Mugoh underpinned the need for the officers to speed up the case because the families involved are hurting.

”Think of the pain and suffering of a family missing their loved one and come forward. Your information could be the key to bringing them back home,” she asserted.

The twist in the story is that Reuben went missing a day after his friend and business partner, Paul Kipkemei Korir, was abducted from a joint in Ngong town.

Many of those who knew the two missing men are convinced that the abductions may have been done on different days, but they are related.

With every new passing day, the urgency to find Reuben and Korir grows, with the families holding onto hope and praying for their safe return.

Anyone with information regarding the two missing men is encouraged to contact the authorities immediately.
