Nairobi - A heartbroken girl desperate to continue her education journey faces a monumental challenge.

Ravinah Adolwa has been stranded at home since she successfully finished her primary school education last year.

The girl said she has not stepped foot in the classroom since the beginning of the year because of financial challenges.

As she highlighted her issue, she made an online appeal to Kenyans and well-wishers to help her join high school.

Where does Ravinah Adolwa live?

"I am 15 years old. I live in the informal settlement of Congo in Kawangware with my mother and two brothers. I am the eldest child. I sat for my Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) last year and scored 352 marks.
"Unfortunately, six months later, I have yet to report to school because of the lack of school fees. My mother does menial jobs to fend for us. I am appealing to Kenyans of goodwill to help me join high school," she humbly pleaded.

While making the heartbreaking video, the distressed teenager sat on a jerrican as she held her certificate.

Kenyans ready to help KCPE student

Heartbroken Kenyans headed to the comment section to react to the post, with many promising to help.

Abiud Josiah Mabonga:

"I know the pain of lacking; let me send my small contribution, sir, for a good job. God will always bless you and your family."

Mount Zion:

"She can. There are even day schools where she can report. How much does it cost one to report to a day school? We can help."

Ndungu Nyoro:

"I believe the girl deserves a chance. Believe with me, too."

Chris Joseph's Odalinga:

"Done.
May the girl report to school in Jesus' name."

Jb Kumben:

"Should be assisted, actually; she is a very promising girl."

Abby Koko:

"And remember, this is the last form 1 class under the 8-4-4 system. She badly deserves a chance."

John DiCaprio:

"We have politicians eating money meant for the needy. As good Kenyans, we will help her. She will go to school."

When did Homa Bay orphan sit for KCPE?

In Homa Bay county, another young girl was in a similar situation, begging for help to join high school.

Olivet Achieng sat for her KCPE in 2023, scoring 266 marks in the national exams, and looked forward to joining Ringa Girls High School.

The teenager who lost her parents in 2016 said she struggled to continue her studies because of a lack of finances.
