A Reddit user, @Realmarni, has opened up about visiting his girlfriend's apartment in Nakuru.

Why Nairobi man visited lover

The Nairobi man via Reddit, revealed that he and his lover argued about why he never visited her home in Nakuru county.

"So about a month ago, me and mines had a heated argument on why I never visit her at her place, so to calm the raging clouds, I agreed to visit her this month for the first time since we started dating over a year ago."

@Realmarni disclosed that their upbringing was a world apart, and they solve issues differently and have different thought processes.

"Here is a little backstory: I am a suburban born and raised male from Nairobi, and she is from the other side of the coin, basically what most of you would term as 'Eastlando' (not from Nairobi though), born and raised.

For me, I feel like it's a merge of two different worlds because of how we reason and solve basic issues. I am not going to lie. It’s like hiking the mountain of Everest, but we all have to pick a struggle!"

To cut the argument short, he decided to pack up and visit her in Nakuru. He found out that his bae had invited someone else to her house.

"I booked a matatu to Nakuru, where she lives and works, and got there safely, only to understand that she had invited one of her friends over for a staycation. First-hand experience, though, I never felt any sense of comfort from the moment I stepped in that house, not because of “kupatwa na morio humlipia rent.” She has a well-paying job, plus she is a daddy’s girl, so I know she can comfortably afford everything in that house, including the rent."

The Reddit user noted that he never had insecure thoughts about visiting her since he knew his girlfriend could comfortably pay her rent.

"The wave of uncomfortability came from the fact that this is her house. As much as she is my girlfriend, it’s her house! There are certain things you are used to doing as her man, but it is just weird doing them at her house. I stayed there for a week, so there was this instance.

I mentioned my girl had one of her girlfriends over, so this girl smokes cigarettes, and there was a point I was asked by my girlfriend to ask her not to smoke inside the house. What do you mean?"

Why Nairobi man packed out of lover's house

While staying with her, the man disclosed that he found it challenging to display his masculinity. His last straw was when his girlfriend questioned why he opened the door for a delivery person.

"As days went by, I realised I was struggling in terms of portraying my masculine energy in that space. I felt like a lost kid running around that house. What finally got me out of that was when someone knocked at the door. I was in the living room all alone; the latter were chit-chatting on the balcony, and so I answered the door.

It was some water delivery chick, so I took the water inside, and the babe left. Later on, my girlfriend realised that the water was brought, and she got mad that I answered the door instead of calling her first to come and answer. Had me packing and booking another matatu back to my place."

The lady showed netizens the clip, highlighting things he did that spoke volumes about his love for her.

Apart from doing laundry, the loving man helped paint her room and fetched water for his woman at night.
