Nairobi - The police fraternity has been thrown into mourning following the demise of a DCI officer attached to Gigiri Police Station.
Constable Shadrack Otieno Genga met his tragic demise while driving his Subaru Legacy towards Mlolongo on Uhuru Highway at Lusaka Roundabout.
The accident happened on Saturday, April 13.

How did Shadrack Otieno die in accident?
According to the police report, the officer lost control, his vehicle veered off the road causing the ill-fated car to overturn.
He was subsequently thrown into the tarmac road, where he sustained fatal head injuries, Nairobi News reported.
“On reaching the location of the accident, he lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road into the roundabout and overturned.
Due to the impact, the driver was thrown out of the vehicle into the tarmac and sustained serious head injuries that resulted in his death on the spot,” a police report filed at the Industrial Area Police Station stated in part.
The deceased was moved to Chiromo Mortuary by officers who visited the scene, awaiting a postmortem examination.
The number of road fatalities between January and March 2024 has exceeded the 1,000 mark according to the NTSA report.
Police officer killed in Kericho accident
In other news, a police officer attached to Fort Tenan Police Post in Kericho was tragically killed after a truck ran over him.
The officer was riding in the same direction as the truck along the Mwamba area in Turbo when the accident occurred.
The other four people who were injured in the same accident were taken to Eldoret Teaching and Referral Hospital.
