NTSA issues road safety warning on heavy rains

Meanwhile, in response to the escalating concerns over road safety, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) issued a warning to drivers to exercise vigilance and implement precautionary measures to ensure road safety.

With the onset of heavy rains, NTSA emphasised the need for heightened awareness and adherence to safety protocols to mitigate the risks posed by hazardous road conditions.

The recent downpour has significantly increased the potential dangers on roads, with the accumulation of dirt, soil, and oil deposits rendering surfaces slippery and prone to accidents.

NTSA advised motorists to exercise caution and reduce speed to counteract the adverse effects of these deposits, which can compromise vehicle control and braking efficiency.

NTSA reiterated its commitment to enhancing road safety through rigorous enforcement of measures.
