Nazizi Asks For Strength Ahead Of First Public Appearance Since Son's Death: "Want To Disappear"

Renowned rapper Nazizi Hirji is still struggling with the loss of her son, five months after his passing.

How Nazizi's son died

Nazizi's son Jazeel passed away on December 25, 2023, while they were holidaying in Tanzania.

The mother of two shared a statement announcing the devastating loss.

It read:

"It is with profound sorrow and deepest heartache that we confirm the tragic passing of Jazeel on Christmas Day, December 25, in Tanzania. We lost this young soul in an unfortunate accident at a hotel where the family was staying."

The little boy was buried on December 27 in Nairobi in accordance with the Islamic religion.

Nazizi's first show since Jazeel's death

Since Jazeel's death, Nazizi has kept to herself and been grieving in isolation. She has not done any shows or made any public appearances.

However, it seems she has decided to take a step forward, as she plans to make her first appearance.

On her Instagram, the rapper disclosed that she would be making a guest appearance at a club in Diani on May 2.

The mother of two noted that it was still difficult to socialise and mingle and asked fans to pray for her.

Her grief was evident as she asked for strength as she took this step.

She noted that although she was still in pain over her son's death; it had been five months of mourning.

In her words:

"Pray for me as I do my first public appearance in Diani next week. Need all the strength for this one...as much as I just want to disappear and never come out it's going on 5 months."

Nazizi pens tearjerking post as she marks birthday

Recently, Nazizi moved fans to tears after sharing a touching post about the two most special people she lost.

On March 31, Nazizi turned a year older, and her friend, Tallia Oyando, gifted her a black and white portrait of her son Jazeel and his uncle Firoz.

Moved by Tallia's gift, Nazizi penned a tearjerking post, remembering the two.

After her touching tribute, netizens flooded Nazizi's post with encouraging messages and wished her a happy birthday.
