1005 Songs and More's message of gratitude

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, lead vocalist Awili expressed their heartfelt gratitude:

"We are grateful because, as a new label and band, we received overwhelming support, particularly during the release of our New EP. The presence of The First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto, fellow artists, media personnel, and family members was truly remarkable. We honestly didn’t anticipate such a response, and for that, we thank God.”

1005 Songs and More's motivation

Awili emphasised their commitment to producing gospel music, citing its broader impact compared to sermons.

“Firstly, it’s our calling. Secondly, music reaches a wider audience than a sermon. Our songs are born from a place of instruction and inspiration, which is why we continue creating them," he explained.

Despite the challenges faced by a fledgling gospel music band like 1005 Songs and More, Awili remains steadfast.

He shared:

"We are introducing a new sound that has not been heard before .. so getting people to understand our message and assignment every other time is where the work is, but we overcome by keeping. We don’t stop."

The band also commended the First Lady for her exemplary leadership and unwavering faith.

"The First Lady leads by example, she walks the talk - she has a big heart and desires to see the growth of many - and is a genuine lover of God," Awili said.

When asked about advice received from Mama Rachel, Andrew said:

"To keep praying, to keep dreaming, to keep trusting in God, to do business and be faithful to God, not to make a step that God hasn’t asked me to, and to be genuine."

Rachel Ruto explains why Kenya needs thanksgiving day

In a separate article, Mama Rachel proposed that Kenya should have a special thanksgiving holiday like the United States of America and Canada.

According to the first lady, giving thanks to God for everything He does for the country was fundamental to all Christians and believers of God.

Rachel observed that if the USA had a thanksgiving holiday, a special day to thank God, Kenya also needed such a holiday to pray and give thanks to God.
