"Rainfall is expected to continue over several parts of the country. Heavy rainfall events are likely in some parts of the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, and the Rift Valley during the first half of the forecast period. Rainfall intensities across the country are likely to reduce during the second half of the forecast period," read the prediction in part.

This announcement follows weeks of relentless downpours, which have resulted in significant loss of property and lives, as well as extensive damage to homes and infrastructure.
