The Chief of Defence Forces, General Francis Ogolla's death, is still a shock to many who are paying tributes to him and recalling their last moments.

The general died on April 18 in a helicopter crash in the Western part of Kenya. The crash also claimed the lives of nine others, among them Sergeant Rose Nyawira.

Nyawira was a photographer who dazzled many with her work credibility and ability to capture moments.

• The helicopter crash that killed Ogolla also had captain Sora Mohamed, Brig Swale Saidi, Col Duncan Keittany, Lt Col David Sawe, Maj George and Benson Magondu, Capt Hillary Litali, Snr Sgt John Kinyua Mureithi, Sgt Cliphonce Omondi, and Sgt Nyawira.
• The bodies of the deceased, including that of Ogolla, were flown to Nairobi and later taken to the Lee Funeral Home.
