2 killed in Kirinyaga road crash

In Kenya, two pillion passengers perished a few days back after the motorcycle they had boarded crashed with a tuk-tuk in Kirinyaga.

The incident occurred on Monday, April 15, when a boda boda rider travelling from Samson Corner to Kutus collided with a tuk-tuk on a bustling highway.

The rider was transporting two passengers, a man and a woman, when the collision occurred.

Gichugu Sub-county Police Commander Johnson Wachira confirmed the unfortunate event, stating that the tuk-tuk's tyre burst, causing a collision with the motorcycle before it swerved off the road.

Regrettably, the boda boda operator lost his life instantly, while one of his passengers, a woman, succumbed to the severe injuries she sustained.

The other passenger was rushed to the hospital in critical condition; the tuk-tuk driver and his passenger were ferried to Kerugoya Hospital for medical attention.
