Kisumu residents loot mattresses

In another story, residents milled around the scene before each started walking away with mattresses despite the police's effort to stop them.

Nyanza traffic commandant Joseph Nganga said the lorry's driver and the turn boy survived the accident with injuries.

Nganga stated that the police were forced to lob teargas to disperse the crowd that had continued to grow.

Some were too heavy for individuals; hence, they sought help from fellow youths to carry the mattress.
