Murkomen pursuing driver driving dangerously on Mombasa Road

In other news, Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kipchumba Murkomen shared on his official X account in April that he was pursuing a Mercedes-Benz motorist captured on video hanging on the windows of the car, which appeared dangerous.

He had assured Kenyans that the man identified as James Gathogo Njeri, would be punished.

The two men, identified as Peleng Monari and Peter Aggrey, were later arrested and pleaded guilty to breaking rules before a traffic court in Nairobi.

Why boda boda sector needs to be streamlined

During the National Safety Action Plan, Murkomen blamed boda boda sector for increased road accidents in the country, due to their reckless actions.

While also blaming passengers for ignoring traffic rules over petty reasons, he said the sector needs to be streamlined to reduce accidents in the country.
