He has been nominated for the prestigious Marconi Award on three separate occasions and his show received the Dallas Observer's Best Local Sports Radio Show award for 2011.

Miller is a noted philanthropic alumni of The University of North Texas in Denton, Texas where he spent much of his time dabbling in bush-league ham radio.
