Tamil-Nadu, India - Tiruvannamalai is in mourning following a tragic accident that claimed the lives of six residents and left 13 others injured when their vehicle crashed into a roadside tree on the Trichy-Chennai Highway.

India Today reported that the group had visited two temples—the Murugan Temple in Thiruchendur and the Meenakshi Amman Temple—and was on their way home when the accident occurred on Wednesday, September 25.

What caused the Trichy-Chennai Highway crash?

The driver lost control and veered off the road at high speed, resulting in the fatal crash. First responders quickly alerted the authorities, and a rescue team promptly arrived to extricate 13 people from the wreckage.

The injured were rushed to Villupuram and Mundiyambakkam Government Hospitals for urgent medical treatment, while the deceased were transported to a government hospital for postmortem and other necessary formalities.

The authorities have since launched an investigation into the accident.

What did Morara Kebaso say after surviving accident?

In Kenya, political activist and businessman Morara Kebaso was involved in a tragic accident in Embu while travelling to Nairobi.

Morara alleged that the driver of the vehicle that collided with him was intoxicated, lost control of the car, and veered into his lane, leading to the crash. The driver then fled the scene, abandoning his wrecked car.

This incident has left Morara fearing for his life, expressing concerns that someone might be targeting him. The 28-year-old has since shared a photo of the alleged driver, seeking public assistance in identifying him.
