According to Duale, Gachagua's recent actions go against the founding principle of the Kenya Kwanza administration, which emphasises the nation above personal interest.

The outspoken CS slammed Gachagua, claiming his public utterances reveal a troubling agenda that undermines the unity of the country.

"True leadership puts the nation above personal gain. That is the founding principle of the Kenya Kwanza Administration.
The deputy president's (second in command) recent actions reveal a troubling agenda that undermines unity and progress. Kenya deserves leaders who serve, not deceive," Duale said.

Duale's remarks come amid increasing pressure to impeach the deputy president after his alleged fallout with President William Ruto.

Already, a censure motion to discuss the conduct of the deputy president has been filed at the Senate.

How Atwoli reacted to plans to impeach Gachagua

In related news, COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli blasted the deputy president over his alleged fallout with President William Ruto.

Weighing in on the ongoing debate on the impeachment of Gachagua on Monday, September 23, Atwoli called for a re-evaluation of the position within the government.

According to Atwoli, the DP's position should remain as an appointee of the president rather than as a running mate, as in the current state.

The long-serving trade unionists argued that the country would have less drama with the deputy being an appointee.
