Controversial blogger Aoko Otieno, aka Maverick Aoko, received much-needed support from her dear father when she was arraigned.
Aoko was arrested from her home and taken to Muthaiga Police Station on Friday, September 16,
On Monday, September 19, tears flowed freely from the former Standard media journalist's eyes as she saw her dad right before her charges were read out.
In a video captured by Zipporah Weru and shared on Facebook, the two are seen hugging emotionally at the Milimani Law Courts.

What were the charges against Aoko?
According to the charge sheet, Aoko was in the dock because of the publication of false information, cyber harassment and fraudulent use of electronic data.
In one of the charges, Aoko is accused of unlawfully publishing defamatory and threatening information about Amber Ray and Jamal while using her X platform.
She was released from police custody on KSh 100,000 cash bail after pleading not guilty to the three counts.
On her X account, she claimed that her phone and laptop, which are her tools of trade, had been confiscated by the police.
X suspends Aoko's account
In another story, Maverick Aoko Otieno's X account with over 77,000 followers was suspended on Tuesday, October 6, 2023.
The Kenyan writer, who did not mince her words, had rattled many women in Kenya with her views on feminism as she sided with men on several occasions.
She had previously made headlines after stating eating fare (by ladies) without logical excuse amounted to theft.
