Residents of Ramoya village in Kajwang sub-location, Ndhiwa constituency in Homa Bay County, woke up to a rude shock after finding the decomposing body of a man in his rental house at Kayaga trading centre on Friday morning, August 30.

According to the assistant chief of Kajwang’s sub-location, Enos Nyawade, the deceased had not been seen from Monday, August 25, until Friday, August 30, when his decomposing body was found lying on the bed.

“One of the neighbours who was passing next to the deceased house became suspicious of a bad smell from his house before raising the alarm,” the chief said.

Upon breaking the door, they found the deceased body lying on his bed with blood oozing from his nose and a swollen body.

The administrator said the deceased, who had been working as a technician at Kabondo Trading Center, had stayed in the said house for a month before his mysterious death.

The body was moved to the Manyata Kobodo mortuary, awaiting postmortem and identification.

Elsewhere, the residents of the Nyamasaria locality within Kisumu were shocked after learning of the demise of a young woman.

Josephine Akiri was discovered dead inside her rented house on Thursday, August 29.

The sad news was publicised on social media, where she was mourned.

Akiri died after a bout of depression, according to her close friends.

What Kisumu lady complained about before mysterious death

Excerpts of online chats with her friends showed her lamenting about her supposed partner, who allegedly neglected her after she fell pregnant.

Josephine complained of a lack of basics, including food, given that she could not fend for herself owing to the heavy pregnancy.

She accused her partner of shifting focus to other women whom he allegedly revels with in the Kisumu entertainment joints as she suffered in the house alone.

Josephine said she was despaired and was finding it hard to sustain the unborn.

Her body was taken to the morgue as authorities probe the circumstances of her death.
