President William Ruto announced new appointments to his government, bringing in some friends who had previously been sidelined.

In a statement seen by TUKO.co.ke on Friday, August 23, Ruto appointed prominent digital strategist Dennis Itumbi as head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the President's Executive Office.

The president said his recent appointments would be instrumental in implementing the objectives of the broad-based government.

"This will bolster implementation of the BETA Plan by the broad-based government, the head of state and government," partly read a statement

How did Itumbi react to his new job?

Itumbi took to social media to thank the president for the new position and for consistently providing him with opportunities to serve both him and the country.

"Asante President William Samoei Ruto for the continued chance to serve," he said.

He also thanked those who have wished him well in his new role and those who have critiqued him.

Itumbi also pledged to listen to the ideas presented by Kenyans.

"I am listening to your ideas. Asanteni sana for all the kind words and criticism too," he said.

Kenyans react as Ruto reappoints Moses Kuria Eliud Owalo

Earlier, Ruto also reappointed former two Cabinet secretaries to his administration.

Ruto appointed former ICT CS Eliud Owalo as the deputy chief of staff, Performance and Delivery Management.

Former Public Service CS Moses Kuria also returned to Ruto's administration after being appointed a senior economic advisor.

The president's latest appointments have been received with mixed reactions as a section of Kenyans question why Kuria and Owalo were sacked only to be reappointed.
