An autopsy report has revealed the cause of death of Desree Moraa, the medical intern from Gatundu Level 5 Hospital.

What did Desree Moraa's autopsy report reveal?

The autopsy report indicates that Moraa died from asphyxia caused by a lack of oxygen or an excess of carbon dioxide in the body.

Pathologist Cathrine Muyendo informed the Daily Nation that the deceased's breathing was disrupted, leading to an insufficient supply of oxygen in her body.

A report by Medical News Today explains that asphyxia can result from strangulation, which can obstruct air from entering the lungs and block blood flow to the brain.

A friend of the deceased stated that she was in poor mental condition following an alleged altercation with her supervisor at her workplace on Friday, September 20.

What Health Ministry said about Moraa's death

The Ministry of Health joined the family and friends of the late medical intern Desree Moraa in mourning her passing.

In a press statement obtained by TUKO.co.ke, Health Cabinet Secretary Deborah Barasa paid tribute to Moraa, noting that as a medical intern, she had already impacted many lives through her passion and dedication to healthcare.

Barasa noted that Moraa's death serves as a reminder of the challenges that healthcare professionals face in their work.
