Entertainer DJ Evolve has shown significant progress in his recovery in a new video in which he spoke vibrantly.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino was accused of allegedly opening fire at Evolve in early 2020 at a Nairobi club where they were both revelling.

Evolve managed to cheat death and has since been confined to bed and subjected to treatment.

What is DJ Evolve's progress?

A new clip showed Evolve's progress as he moved around with a wheelchair and even spoke out loud.

The entertainer met up with content creator Brian Muchiri, who lives with a physical disability after he was involved in an accident.

Muchiri and Evolve conversed in the video, and Kenyans were happy that he had regained his speech.

As he moved around in his chair, he said he was grateful to God for his progress.

"Nice to meet you all, very grateful. We spent a great afternoon together," Evolve said.

Muchiri noted that the meet-up was in celebration of Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month.

Why Babu Owino was acquitted in DJ Evolve's case

The Embakasi East MP was acquitted of charges of being disorderly while handling a firearm in August 2023.

Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi acquitted Babu on the grounds that the prosecution failed to prove its case.

Ochoi was particular that the investigations were shoddy, making the prosecution's case weak.
