He's had an up-and-down 2024 season. He is the second fastest man in 2024 with a time of 9.79 seconds, but he produced a disappointing performance at the Paris Olympics.

He reached the semi-final, a frustrating return considering he was one of the favourites to finish on the podium.

"A win is a win. The competition wasn't that much. Its always nice to compete and get the lessons and take them to the next season. It was the last race of the season, so we're looking forward to next year. We are pushing so we get more and more guys from Kenya doing sprints," he told CNN journalist Larry Madowo.

Omanyala will be aiming to win a medal at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
