A long convoy made its way through the streets of Mombasa, stopping at five Hindu temples where mourners paid their respects.

The streets were lined with people, many holding flowers and bowing their heads in silent prayer.

An emotional video captured the moment the industrialist's body was cremated in a ceremony marked by profound grief and heartfelt tributes.

Screams and wails rented the air as mourners watched the yellow flames consume their beloved philanthropist.

The grief on their faces told the magnitude of the deep sense of loss felt by the community.

Hasuu, the owner of Mombasa Cement Limited, was celebrated for his unwavering commitment to community service and philanthropy.

His contributions to education, healthcare, and social services have left an indelible mark on the lives of many in Kenya and beyond.

He was instrumental in transforming the Kibarani Dumpsite into a beautiful park.

Hasuu also had grand visions for the Galana Kulalu Irrigation Project, aiming to enhance food security in Kenya.

That explains why prominent figures, including President William Ruto, sent messages of condolence.

In the message delivered by Mining and Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho, Ruto described Hasuu as a visionary whose legacy would continue to inspire future generations.

Contrary to Hindu traditions, the body of Hasuu was preserved at the Pandya Memorial Hospital morgue.

Normally, Hindus let the body remain at home until cremation, which usually happens within 24 hours of the death.

Since cremation is done within a short period of time, bodies are not preserved in the morgue or embalmed.

As the city of Mombasa mourns the loss of a beloved figure, “Hasuu” legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched.
