The lady revealed that her boyfriend, who comes from a wealthy family, has friends from his class, and she is uncomfortable whenever they are together.

She shared a post on Reddit.com asking how to navigate things, admitting she was struggling to fit in.

She said:

"I am seeing a guy who is from a rich family. He went to an international school from kindergarten all the way to high school. He studied abroad for both undergraduate and masters. He's well-spoken and cultured and likes the finer things in life. He has a big car, lives in a nice neighborhood and hangs outs with cool kids.

I, on the other hand, grew up in the village, borderline poor, and went to public schools from primary school to uni. I've only been to East African countries. Kizungu ni Ile ya kujaribu tu, I use matatus, shop at Gikomba.

I feel so uncomfortable hanging out with his friends because I cannot relate to the things they talk about, where they shop, their experiences etc. But I really like spending time with this man alone.

I'm wondering, have you experienced dating someone of a different social class? How did you navigate difference in lifestyles? Can this relationship work long term?"

The lady further revealed he recently took her out, and the amount he paid for her bill shocked her.

"😂😂It's crazy. He took me to a restaurant last weekend, and the bill was my rent. I was shocked," she wrote.

Timi and Mandy met online and exchanged contacts and started talking on WhatsApp. After discovering the man was a civil engineer, Mandy insisted on knowing how much he earns but things went south.

Mandy said salary is one of the determinants if she would get into a relationship with Timi or not and he ended up blocking her.
