Kenyans are painfully mourning the deaths of 12 people who were sadly killed in an accident that involved several cars on the Meru-Nairobi highway.

The group was among 20 people who had gone for a parental group fete in Nkubu, Meru county, but sadly, they died on their way back to Nairobi in a grisly road accident on the dreaded black spot.

In the wake of the latest deaths, which also included two kids, it emerged that President William Ruto had promised to have it repaired several times, but nothing had been done about it until now.

After the accident, Deputy President Gachagua confirmed Kenya Kwanza's commitment to improving Nithi Bridge, as fatalities in the area were increasing.

Gachagua said he had directed the contractor to expedite the project so that the lives of Kenyans using the route could be saved. He made the statement following the demise of the 12.

Kenyans are now asking the government to work fast to save lives.

Man gives closer view of Nithi Bridge black spot

A Kenyan man identified as Kingsley-Kenya shared that there were several signs that warn drivers as they approach the infamous Nithi Bridge.

A recent grisly accident saw 12 people lose their lives on the bridge as a van full of women from a chama meeting crashed.

Kingsley-Kenya asked young people driving to the county for the first time to be careful and observe the signs as they drive to the black spot.
