A young man from Kericho has narrated how his life took a turn for the worst after losing his lucrative egg business.

Vincent Kipkoech, in a Facebook post, explained that he supplied eggs to Naivas Supermarket in his home county, earning a whopping KSh 12,000 weekly.

“I once had a booming egg supply business at Naivas Supermarket in Kericho. Every Monday and Friday, I’d haul 2,000 eggs from the rural areas, buying them at just 12 bob a pop and selling them at 15 bob. It was easy money! By the end of the week, I’d pocket a cool 12k,” he wrote.

While speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Vincent stated that he was happy doing the egg business because of the good money he made.

“Imagine living that exciting life—cartons of eggs rolling in like clockwork and my wallet getting thicker! Little did I know, my extraordinary business was about to get scrambled,” he lamented.

Why Vincent Kipkoech closed down his egg business

However, his troubles began when someone supplied him with rotten eggs.

“One day, an agent of the devil from Bomet appeared. This man brought me eggs that were already rotten. My business tumbled faster than a broken egg yolk,” he said.

According to Vincent, the setback saw him close down shop within one month, rendering him jobless.

He took what was left of his savings and started the smokies business in Kericho town, hoping to recover.

“Within a month, I had to close down shop. Left with no choice, I started selling smokies and sausages in CBD, trying to rebuild,” he added.

Girlfriend from hell?

During this time, Vincent reveals he met Chumba, a lady selling clothes at a nearby shop.

He fell in love with her, and they began dating. However, this, too, failed after Chumba had him spend all his money on her.

“She was my girlfriend and I ended up spending everything on her and then she left!” Vincent told TUKO.co.ke

As a result, he faced financial difficulties leading to the closure of his smokies business.

Way forward after failed business ventures

Vincent stated that he has been through a lot but is hopeful that God will open ways for him.

He further noted that he is currently actively looking for a better job, even though he survives on the occasional hustles he gets.

“I have been through a lot but still hustling, I put God forward.”
“For now, I am still hustling. If I get construction work, I go. Plus, my Facebook page has helped me a lot, and I have managed to survive. I am still looking for a job, though,” he stated.

Kipkoech said he keeps wondering how he went from being an egg mogul to a jobless young man.

“I’m jobless, single, and wondering how I went from egg mogul to this. My luck has cracked, but I am still hustling. Now I'm questioning whether I should’ve stuck to smokies or tried selling boiled eggs instead,” he lamented.

While showing a huge sufuria filled with eggs, Mzeewamayai claimed he used only one cup of water to boil the eggs.
