"We suspect the gang abandoned the car after our security team circulated the number plate, make, and color. We are still investigating whether the suspects are working with our local people," the commissioner said.

The robbers tied up three guards and the deputy principal before ransacking her office and the principal's, stealing an undisclosed amount of money and valuables.

The night guard, identified as Nzioka Kiatu, suffered severe injuries and died while being taken to the hospital.

Security guard killed as thugs break into Kimabu school

Earlier, All Saints Cianda High School in Kiambu county was in mourning after their security guard, Nicholas Angwenyi, was brutally murdered by thugs on Saturday, June 1.

On the ill-fated night, Angwenyi attempted to raise an alarm after hearing the thugs breaking into the school. Upon realizing his intentions, the thugs brutally murdered him.

Kiambu police commander Michael Muchiri said the gang also broke into the staffroom and several classrooms, stealing items worth millions of shillings before escaping.

Muchiri added that Angwenyi was discovered in a pool of blood with deep cuts on his back.

His body was transported to the mortuary for an autopsy as police continued their investigations. Police confirmed that no suspects had been arrested in connection with the robbery incident at that time.
