Kisumu: A man is among several Kenyans mourning their loved ones who died in a grisly accident along Londiani-Muhoroni road.

The accident took place on Londiani-Muhoroni Road and claimed several lives, leaving family members in pain.

Josh Otieno was sorely heartbroken after losing two kin in the accident minutes after bidding them goodbye.

Otieno said he lost his teenage daughter, who was being accompanied by her mother back to school.

"They wanted to board another vehicle, which was not that one, but the conductor insisted they board that one," he told Citizen TV Kenya.

Our Lady of Mercy Funeral Home Muhoroni

Otieno lost his 17-year-old daughter Tambachi and spouse just 20 minutes after seeing them off from the stage.

He made his way to Our Lady of Mercy Funeral Home Muhoroni, where other family members went to identify the bodies of their kin as they struggled to come to terms with the sudden loss.

Minutes later, Otieno received a phone call from his son, who broke the shattering news that the mum and the sister were no more.

Kenyan father mourns daughter

Peter Okumu also lost his daughter, whom he had taken to board the ill-feted vehicle as she made her way back to Ugunja Technical and Vocational Training College to sit for her final exam.

"I received a call from my son, who told me the devastating news, saying people were badly injured. He asked me to accompany him to the accident scene, and I came very quickly," he said.

Kenyans react to Londiani accident

Kenyans cautioned drivers to be careful on roads following the news as they shared their comments.

Joy Joy:

"Drivers, be careful while driving. Accidents have become too much."

Gladys Murebeh:

"That girl was crushed so severely. May they rest in peace."

Hamisi Tsuma:

"Drivers, please be careful on the road. Let's reduce these accidents. Disasters have increased."

How many people died in Nithi Bridge accident?

In another story, Kenyans bitterly mourned the lives of 12 people who were killed in a horrible Nithi Bridge accident as they were returning from a parental blessing ceremony.

They asked the government to intervene on the road and ensure no more lives were lost on the black spot.

After the accident, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua confirmed the government's commitment to improving Nithi Bridge, as fatalities in the area were increasing.
