Walter, a young man who mesmerised Kenyans with his impeccable flair for English, has excited netizens with a dancehall song largely based on his life experience.

How did Walter end up on the Kisumu streets?

In an interview with My Cup-Kenya, the young man shared how he allegedly fell out with his sister and ended up on the street.

During the emotionally charged interview, it also emerged that he was actually a good singer, leaning toward the dancehall music genre.

When Jeff handed him a mic and played some beats for him, Walter jumped on the chance to show off his abilities.

The gifted young man sent waves online with his sizzling dance hall song about his life and also mentioned some of the people who held his hands. While at it, he requested comedian Eric Omondi to visit him.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Jeff, the man who interviewed Walter, said that he desires to turn his life around by going to rehab.

"Walter is ready to go to rehab and change his life. He is asking well-wishers to help and also connect him to producers in the music industry so that he can start his career. He is also willing to work with churches," he said.

Tenwek High students touched as street boy joins school

In another story, a confident teen walked into Tenwek High School, Bomet County, wearing Crocs, a simple white shirt and grey trousers and moved the fraternity.

The young man, who was homeless, only learnt in Class Eight for two months and scored 395 marks, but couldn't get a scholarship because he was living on the streets.

Speaking at the school, young Koech said he wanted to get a degree in medicine and later become a scientist; principal Mutali Chesebe said he would become a big name in society.
