Karanja joyfully shared how the skills he learned when he was young improved his life for many years.

"I learned tailoring from another old man after missing out on my dream job. He lived in Limuru, Kiambu county. I saw how he sewed, and I was intrigued," he told Citizen TV Kenya.

How tailoring helped Karanja

Karanja from Kitale, Trans-Nzoia county, said he started sewing as early as 17, and 80 years later, he was doing the same.

The work helped him buy land and educate his children, which fueled his desire to help young people.

"I would like all the unemployed young people to work with them. My biggest challenge is where I would get them from," he said.
