Kericho - The survivors of the Kipsitet road accident are receiving treatment after cheating death in a carnage that killed nine others.

One of the trapped survivors was captured striving to come out of the defaced vehicle belonging to the Kamtco Ltd Sacco.

The eyewitnesses intervened to help him out of the driver's compartment, where he had sat before the crash.

Luckily, the victim, a visibly middle-aged man, came out of the scene with minor physical injuries as he could be seen walking by himself before he was offered support.

On his shirt were blood splatters suggesting he had walked out of a bloodbath alive.

TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that police seemed to blame a truck driver over the tragic accident.

What caused Londiani grisly road accident?

The truck and the Kamtco Ltd Sacco collided, leading to the reported deaths and critical injuries.

According to police, the truck driver's apparent lack of keenness caused the accident.

The heavy mover, of the Mercedes Benz make, swerved off its lane to ram into the oncoming matatu killing nine people on the spot, the driver included.

Onlookers at the scene corroborated the account of the police.

They said the truck was headed to Londiani while the Matatu was to Kisumu.

Where bodies in Londiani accident were taken

The bodies of the fatalities were booked into the St Vincent Mission Hospital morgue ahead of identification.

The injured were admitted to the Muhoroni sub-county hospital.

Photos shared from the scene depicted a nasty bloodbath that no one would survive in under ordinary circumstances.

The body of the PSV was crashed and its formation dismantled, only fragments of the seats being the only evidence that the wreckage was once a mover on the road.

It was towed to the Kipsitet Police Station.

The police immediately launched a manhunt for the truck driver, who fled the scene uninjured.
