Maingi Mustafah Musyoka, a 24-year-old from Machakos county, is pleading with well-wishers to help raise KSh 215,000 so that he can continue with his college studies.

Where is Mbooni Boys High School?

In a Facebook post shared by lawyer Wahome Thuku, it emerged that Musyoka was a student at Marist International University College, Nairobi, where he studied for a Diploma in Procurement.

"Musyoka's father died in 2013 when he was in Form Two at Mbooni Boys in Makueni county. Musyoka, the mother and a sibling then moved to Mombasa. He joined college in 2017, but in 2019, his grandfather who was more like his guardian, passed away. Life was never the same again for them," said Thuku.

"COVID-19 hit in 2020, and the mother lost her job at APA; they were kicked out of their house in Kitengela despite getting some material support from one Alice Maina. They went hungry for days and nights," added the lawyer.

Musyoka drops out of college

When things became too bad, Musyoka dropped out of college after only one year, and they relocated to rural Machakos.

They have faced struggle after struggle, going without food and he was introduced to the lawyer by a friend.

"I heard about his case and met him this morning. He wants to go back to college and clear the remaining one year (two semesters)," said Thuku.
"I talked to the college, and they told us they are ready to readmit him to clear. They also revealed that he has a fee balance of KSh 22,000 and needs another KSh 113,500 for the whole year. He also needs at least KSh 10,000 per month for accommodation outside the college in Langata. So I estimated it to be KSh 215,000 to complete college," he added.

Wahome Thuku appeals for Musyoka to be helped

Registration for the course is ongoing, and classes start on September 09, 2024.

"This is my appeal that we support this young man as we have always done with others. As little or as much as you can, let's change his life. We can't send him our support, or can we send it directly to the school for accountability. Every coin will be accounted for," said the lawyer.

You can help Musyoka through 0722627091.

Kienyeji Pro Max goes back to school

Like Musyoka who dropped out, popular content creator Alice Chebet aka Kienyeji Pro Max had been a Form Two student but missed most classes and exams due to fee arrears.

Well-wishers launched an initiative to educate her, upon which she agreed to join a boarding school and start afresh in Form One

The school was also kind enough to allow visits from her producer so that her TikTok content remains alive.
