Maina Kageni Earns Over KSh 2m Monthly On Classic 105, Jalang'o Says

Lang'ata legislator Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o has divided opinions after shedding light on how much top radio presenters earn.

What is Maina Kageni's salary?

The former comedian-turned-politician appeared on the Iko Nini podcast and asked the hosts to estimate how much Maina Kageni and Daniel Ndambuki alias King’ang’i earn.

The duo’s show on Classic 105 FM is arguably the country’s biggest breakfast show.

“They reached around KSh2 to KSh3 million a long time ago,” Jalang’o said.

The host then said that the most he would pay Maina was KSh 3 million.

"When Maina goes on air, there is a commercial on every break. Everything is sponsored. He makes the station around KSh 10 million in a day. Why not give him KSh 3 million because if he leaves, the money won’t be as good,” he said.

Jalango further disclosed that Gidi Gidi and Ghost Mulee also make good money.

"Have you seen the house Gidi has built upcountry? Do you know that he lives in Karen? It is expensive," he said.

Jalang’o noted that the top presenters earn that much because of their hard work and consistency.
