A photo of Zabron singer Marco Joseph Bukulu meeting President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel has resurfaced.

What is Marco Joseph's cause of death?

Marco, part of the group known for hit songs such as Ruto’s favourites Mkono Wa Bwana and Sweetie, passed away on Wednesday, August 21.

The group’s chairman, Obeid Kazimili, said Marco died while admitted in a Dar es Salaam hospital.

"As the chairperson of Zabron Singers, I am saddened to announce the death of our singer, Marco Joseph Bukulu, who was also the deputy chairperson. He died in Dar es Salaam in the hospital known as Jakaya," he wrote.

The chair further indicated that Marco died while undergoing treatment for a heart condition.

Shortly after the news of his death broke, a photo of Marco and other choir members during their Kenyan visit surfaced.

They graced Ruto’s swearing-in ceremony to perform his favourite tune. In Mkono Wa Bwana, Zabron Singers outline how God has held their hands and uplifted them.

The photo captured at State House, Nairobi, depicted Ruto and Rachel sandwiched between female singers.

Marco and the rest of the men made the back row.

Everyone at the Kasarani venue rose to their feet when Marco and the choir sang the song.

However, it was not Zabron Singers' first interaction with the president.

Before the 2022 general elections, Ruto sought permission from the choir to use the song during campaigns.

The song was synonymous with the Kenya Kwanza campaign rallies.

How did Korean choir perform Mkono Wa Bwana?

In June, Ruto was treated to his favourite tune during his visit to South Korea for the 2024 Korea-Africa Summit.

A choir performed Mkono Wa Bwana by Zabron Singers.

The president was visibly moved by the Swahili-singing South Korean choir, watching in awe as they performed.
