Rose Wanja, a woman in Nakuru county, is currently fighting for her life after her husband allegedly burned her with a hot metal rod.
Why did Wanja's husband burn her?
Wanja said her husband, who was reportedly tipsy, returned home and began arguing with her over money.
According to a report by Citizen Digital, the couple's argument escalated to the point where Wanja's husband began burning her with a hot metal rod.

The victim's husband allegedly burned her on her legs, face, and pelvic area before locking her in the home for two days.
Wanja was reportedly rescued by her niece, who helped her seek medical attention before reporting the incident to the police.
Benjamin Mwaura, the deputy chief nurse at the facility, stated that Wanja is in stable condition but is unable to walk due to fractures in her pelvis.
Wanja's husband, a former convict who hit their 2-month-old child with a metal rod nine years ago, is currently on the run.
Athlete Rebecca Cheptegei dies after being burned
In a separate incident, Kenyans were recently sent into mourning after a Ugandan athlete Rebecca Cheptegei passed on after succumbing to burn injuries
The athlete was reportedly set on fire by her Kenyan boyfriend while at her home in Trans Nzoia county.
Cheptegei, who recently competed in the women’s marathon at the 2024 Paris Olympics, suffered severe burns over 80% of her body.
The attack was allegedly carried out by her boyfriend, Dickson Ndiema, during a heated argument.
Ndiema reportedly ambushed Cheptegei as she was coming back home from church, poured petrol on her, and set her ablaze.
Despite receiving intensive care at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, Cheptegei’s injuries proved fatal.
