Fridah Moraa broke down as she narrated the adverse effects of heavy rainfall on her personal life and that of her kids.

Where was Moraa when she received a call?

She painfully said the floods caused by heavy rainfall entered her house and drenched her belongings.

"I was at my casual work. My kids called me and told me it had rained so much that water had entered the house. I thought they were joking, but they were adamant it was true. I boarded a motorcycle and rushed home, where I arrived at 8pm.

When I arrived home, what I saw from the gate broke my heart. I was crying primarily for the birth certificates. I am a single mum, providing everything for my kids singlehandedly. I feed them and pay their school fees," she cried.

The mother of five from Nakuru West said when she looked at her daughter's books, they were drenched in water.

The mattress was drenched in water, and the bed was in separate parts, which added to her stress.

"We have no peace. We have nowhere to go. We did not save anything. We just watched everything in disarray hopelessly. We slept at a neighbour's place," she added.

Moraa asked the government to aid them and help them get a better place to stay following the floods.

The Form Four girl at Mogon Secondary School returned home with tears after seeing the state at home.

Her two siblings were trapped in the house, and she helped them escape the flooded house through the window.
